Weekend match prediction for EURO 2020 Quarter final matches

The EURO 2020 continues as they move into the quarter-finals stage of the tournament with some fixtures billed for this weekend.

Teams that win the quarter-finals will move to the semi-finals, a step closer to the cup.

BetPlanet will be bringing step-by-step match predictions for the EURO 2020 tournament.

Belgium vs Italy

Belgium 3.45 | Draw 3.10 | Italy 2.41

Kick-off: 2nd July 2021 7:00pm (GMT)

Two European top cats, Belgium and Italy, will be playing on Friday for the quarter-finals of the EURO 2020 tournament at Munich’s Allianz Arena.

In this tournament, Belgium won all three matches in their group stages plus their round of 16 stage match. This makes them unbeaten in the tournament.

Our Tip: Belgium to score in both half @5.30

Italy are also unbeaten in this tournament and will also be looking at continuing their winning streak.

Italy were in Group A and started the tournament against Turkey on June 11th, winning 3-0 in Rome. Another 3-0 win followed in Italy’s second game, this time with Switzerland, before Wales fell 1-0 as the Azzurri took their foot off the gas having already secured qualification to the last-16.

Tip: Belgium to qualify @2.18

Belgium have now won each of their last 14 matches throughout the qualifiers and these finals; equalling the record set by Germany and last-eight opponents Italy.

Czech Republic vs Denmark

Czech Republic 3.90 | Draw 3.25 | Denmark 2.14

Kick-off: 3rd July 2021 4:00pm (GMT)

Czech Republic go into battle with Denmark on the field at the Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan on Saturday as both sides compete for a place in the semi-finals of the EURO 2020 tournament.

Our Tip: Czech Republic to score the first goal @2.49

The Czechs finished third in Group D behind England and Croatia but caused a huge upset in the round of 16 by kicking out the Netherlands.

Denmark have not reached the last four since 1984 and clinched the Euros in 1992, while the Czech Republic were last seen in the semis in 2004.

Tip: Czech Republic to score in both halves @5.50

In the head-to-head record between both sides, there have been 11 previous clashes with the Czech Republic winning thrice. There have been six draws between the two sides as well. Denmark secured a thumping 3-0 away victory in a FIFA World Cup qualifier in March 2013.

Ukraine vs England

Ukraine 8.30 | Draw 4.60 | England 1.45

Kick-off: 3rd July 2021 7:00pm (GMT)

Ukraine will face England in the quarter-finals of EURO 2020 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Saturday.

Both sides will be desperate to win in order to make it into the semi-finals of EURO 2020. England have not gotten that far since 1996 and Ukraine have never made it to the semis before.

Our Tip: Ukraine to score in both halves @7.80

With both teams carrying plenty of momentum from their wins over Germany and Sweden respectively, this match will be a closer match to call than many expect.

Ukraine came through a tricky group that included the Netherlands, Austria and North Macedonia.

Tip: Harry Kane to score @3.70

Andriy Shevchenko’s side actually lost two games but made the knockout stages with one win as the tournament’s fourth-best third-placed side.

This match promises to be a tricky match for Ukraine, as their record against England over the years has been relatively poor.

They do have one win over the Three Lions – beating Fabio Capello’s side in a dead-rubber World Cup qualifier in 2009. But they’ve also lost four of their seven meetings, including a 1-0 defeat at Euro 2012.

The last time the sides faced off was in a 2014 World Cup qualifier – and the game finished 0-0.
